FEDERAL FLY-IN

This is a unique opportunity to meet with Nebraska’s delegation to D.C.—along with our lobby team and executives from ACEC National. Meetings and reception are held at ACEC’s residence, a beautiful three-story townhouse in the Capitol Hill neighborhood just six blocks east of the U.S. Capitol building. This very special event is available to a limited number of ACEC Nebraska member firms.

“I have been part of our discussions on Capitol Hill many times during the ACEC Annual Conference. But this was different. It was much more personal with deeper conversation and sharing of insights, rather than just talking points, between our elected representatives and each of us. We also enjoyed the undivided attention of multiple people from ACEC National, something that is impossible to give during the Annual Conference. Engaging in conversation with the likes of Dave Bender, Steve Hall, Matt Reiffer, Katharine Mottley, Nando Gomez, and Jen Pugh over a legislative briefing, a walk through the Capitol neighborhood, the reception with our Nebraska delegation, and dinner was priceless and I’m grateful for the time, attention, and perspective they shared with us."

Anita Brunero

Director of Membership Education, Communication & Awards

With more than 20 years of experience in nonprofits, Anita has built a career leading special projects, communications, and event development with a focus on strategic growth, community/stakeholder engagement, and both short- and  long-term impact. Her work has included launching new initiatives, revitalizing existing programs, and managing a diverse portfolio of events. 

In addition to delivering event leadership, Anita specializes in program development, using qualitative and qualitative information to assess what’s effective and how to guide improvements. She brings a strategic lens to designing programs that align with an organization’s priorities. From concept to execution, she brings creativity, strategy, and a collaborative spirit to every project. One of Anita’s special ACEC NE projects is Good Life Bingo.

At heart, Anita is a miner for stories. Anita’s background includes many years of managing awards and recognition programs and writing best practices. One of her current (and favorite) ACEC NE projects is managing the awards program. She loves sharing stories of our exceptional engineering projects and our engineers. 

Anita has a BA in Literature, Art, and a minor in Economics; MA in Literature; and an MFA in Writing. Anita enjoys running, cycling, podcasts (science!), and finding any excuse to bring people together and host a community event.
