Inspiring the Next Generation

ACEC Nebraska has created a unique video series that introduces students of all ages to the exciting world of engineering and the role engineers play in shaping the “built environment”—the places where we live, work, and play. Each video is tailored to meet students where they are. We encourage anyone to use these videos—especially educators—or anyone who wants to explain what an engineering career could look like!

This video invites viewers to witness the impact of engineers in our everyday lives. From protecting animals at the zoo, to designing safer roads, to lighting up stadiums, and keeping skyscrapers moving—engineers are behind it all. Here, we show engineers in action across places we all know and enjoy. The video ends with a call to action: if you’re curious, creative, and want to make the world better… Become an Engineer.

PreK–4th Grade: A fun, age-appropriate introduction that sparks curiosity about how engineers design and build the world around us.

Middle School (Grades 5–8): An engaging look at how engineers solve problems and create solutions in ways that connect directly to students’ everyday experiences.

High School (Grades 9–12): A deeper dive into real-world applications and career pathways, showing how engineers impact communities and shape the future.
